Skylar's 1 week

I'm going to take weekly pictures so we can watch how much Skylar grows week by week. Yesterday she was 1 week old. She doesn't do much but eat, sleep and poop. She started smiling in her sleep at 3 days old and it is the cutest thing ever. She often tries to hold her head up herself. She's a strong lil thing. It seems like I'm always nursing and she's not too fond of burping. We are working on it though. Nights have been very easy for me. She's been going 4 hours which the doctor said is fine as long as it doesn't exceed 4 1/2 hours between feedings.

Here are a few extra pics from our first week home.

Skylar Layne is here!

Tuesday morning bright and early we left the house to go to the hospital. We had a scheduled c section, September 14th because our little angel was breech and too stubborn to turn. I hadn't been sleeping very well the past couple weeks but somehow the night before I slept the best I have. I think it was from all the prayers we were getting. We got all checked in to the hospital and got to our room to get IV fluids started. Nonni, Aunt Ashley, Papa Redd, Nana Nancy, Mimi and Poppy were all there before we went back for surgery.  I was extremely nervous. They took me back first and gave me a spinal which wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Daddy came into the room after what seemed like forever. The pain medication made me a little sick to my stomach and I actually got sick on the operating table. We got started around 8:45 and Skylar was delieverd at 9:07 weighing 7lbs 2.6oz and 20 and a quarter inches long. They held her up on the side and I fell in love instantly. Daddy got to hold her first and kept saying "she's so pretty." All I could do was rub her lil cheek while they were finishing the procedure. They took us back to the recovery room and I finally got to hold her. I couldn't believe how perfect she is. She looks just like me except I think she has Daddy's nose and toes. I was able to start breast feeding in recovery for a little bit. Aunt Ashley was the first to come back and see her. I was still feeling a little sick after the pain medication. They took Skylar back to the nursery and moved me to a regular room. They brought you directly back to Mommy and then the visitors started coming. We were very blessed to have so many friends and family that came to see us. I still can't believe she's here. September 14th was by far the best day of my life. I already can't imagine my life without her. There are several times a day that I just look and her and can't fight the tears because I love her so much already.

POSITIVE

I wanted to remember the day I found out I was pregnant with Skylar, however, I'm blogging about it a little late. On January 3, 2010  I got REALLY sick with what we thought was the flu. WhiteGlove came out that Sunday to diagnose me. I tested negative for everything. Strep, Mono, and the Flu. She then asked me if there was a chance I could be pregnant? I told her its not really possible but I guess there could be a chance. Then I asked if what I have were pregnancy symptoms. She said "Well, this is exactly how I found out I was pregnant." I then began to freak out..I didn't really care for the lady to start out with. She was asking me some personal questions that weren't necessary. Anyway, She ended up giving me a pregnancy test that came back negative..Whew! She said I probably had the flu and prescribed me to Tamaflu. As sick as I was with the "flu" no one else got it. Which I thought was strange considering that Saxton and Steven were around me all weekend and the flu is highly contagious. It took me a week to recover and I was back to work and normal life. A week went by and I realized I had missed something...ahem...if you get my drift. I figured it was just because I was so sick and my body was thrown off. On the night of January 20, 2010 I decided to take a pregnancy test. I thought maybe seeing the negative would through my body back into gear. I took the test before getting in the shower without telling Steven. When I looked at the test one line was really doted and the other was pretty solid...I just thought there's NO WAY. I text two of my best girlfriends (Ja'Tina and Jessica) and they both agreed I was pregnant. I still didn't believe it. I woke up the next morning and took another one...same results. So, on my way in to work I went and bought a digital test that would show me more clearly. On my way I ended up throwing up in the bag the test was in. At that point I was thinking Oh MY GOODNESS!! I am pregnant! But still didn't truly believe it. I got to work, did my normal morning routine and finally went to take the digital test. PREGNANT! I immediately started to panic! I called my doctor to get some advice on where to go from there. I had to go all day without telling Steven, which was pretty hard. When I got home Steven could tell something was wrong...I was just sooo nervous to tell him. I needed him to stay calm because I was flipping out. I finally just came out and told him as I was unloading the dishwasher.. His exact words (sorry Dad) were "Oh, Shit." We were both in shock! I added the story about the "Flu" because I don't think I actually had the Flu. I think that is the way my body reacted to the little alien taking over my body. Needless to say, we are very blessed to be able to welcome another child to our family. I am so thankful to have a healthy pregnancy and such a supportive family and friends. I love you all!

Busy Weekend-Quick Recap

Friday night we went out to dinner with my Dad and Nancy before they leave for their Mediterranean cruise. We had a nice dinner outside at Mi Cocina, one of our favorites.

Saturday morning I took Saxton over to Mimi and Poppy's to play while I went to the hair salon. Finally! My hair was getting a little nasty but you can't color it until your second Tri. I got home from my appointment and Steven grilled yummy hamburgers for lunch. It was such a pretty day so we were searching for something to do but it was a little late to get out an do anything. We ended up going out to some friends house to grill fajitas. We went and bought a homemade ice cream maker, it turned out a little runny but it was good. We will have to try it again soon.

Sunday, we planned on going to church but Saxton had a rough night sleeping, which means I did also. I just couldn't wake up on time. We headed out to First Monday in Canton around 11:30, with our friends Alica and Heath, and their daughter Kylee. It turned out to be such a beautiful day. We stayed out there all day. We got a new center piece for our kitchen table and I got the girls a few matching bows. Saxton was exhausted by the end of the day! She slept really good last night!

I am 20 weeks today! Half way! Yay. I am FINALLY starting to feel more energy. It is so nice to not feel tired ALL the time. I am starting to feel Skylar move a lot more. It's so nice to be able to feel her little movements now, other than being tired (and getting fat) I really haven't felt pregnant. So, it's nice to know she's really in there!

I have some pictures that I will upload later. I hope everyone has a great week!

Skylar's Moving!

Last night Steven felt Skylar kick a couple times! I was so glad he finally got to share that with me. I've been feeling movement for a while now but it's starting to get stronger. I love feeling her little kicks!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

April Showers Bring May Flowers..

This past weekend was very relaxing! We got Saxton early since it had been so long that we had seen her. Wednesday night we went out to dinner at Glorias and walked around a bit after. The weather has been so nice lately.

We all came down with pretty bad allergies this weekend and we were  feeling under the weather. Steven's games got cancelled due to the rain, so we spent the majority of Saturday hanging out and sleeping. Poor Saxton's allergies were so bad that her eyes were getting crusty and they were so red. :(
This is what we did most of the weekend

Our flowers are REALLY starting to bloom and they are beautiful!! Here are a few pictures of the front of the house.

Sunday we were feeling better and got out to run some errands. I also went through Saxtons clothes and moved a lot of the stuff that doesn't fit her up to Skylar's room. Saxton has a lot of stuff to pass down to her sister! After we ran a few errands Poppy came to pick up Saxton so she could spend the night with them and Steven and I went to the Mavericks game.  We are sharing season tickets with a friend of Steven's and our seats are AWESOME!! We are sitting on the floor directly behind Cuban and Katty Corner to the Mavs bench. We had a lot of fun and I love the time we get to spend together! :)

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! We love you all!

IT'S A....

GIRL!! Much to our surprise we are having a healthy baby girl! I can still hardly believe it. I, honestly, thought it was a boy this entire time. We had a boy name picked out, I knew the boy bedding I liked. Now all I can think is PINK!! :) And most of you know how much I love big bows! I can't want to meet our little girl and see the little personality God has given her. I think we are going to stick with the name Skylar Laine Nabors. I am so excited to see Saxton and Skylar become great friends and grow up together. Hopefully, they will get more siblings one day! Here are some pictures of our girl...

Project!

A couple weeks ago I get a message from Steven. "Take a couple deep breaths when you turn on our street today... Yard is under construction" I immediately start thinking...what could he possibly be doing now? So, I get home and there are about 10 men hard at work in the frontyard AND the backyard? Steven decided to put in a few new flower beds in the front and build an outdoor kitchen in the back. Which I had no problem with, however, we had family coming over in 4 days for Easter!! I was a little worried it wouldn't get finished. Steven proved me wrong and everything was complete by Sunday! It looks beautiful, thanks Honey!!! :)

Weekend

This weekend was different than any other weekend we've had for the past 7 months. We didn't have Saxton. I didn't really know what to do? We really missed her to say the least! Thursday night we went out to Seven Points with my Grandparents and Dad to eat at Catfish Corner. It was still just as good as back in the day, and it was nice to be able to visit with my Grandma and Grandpa. We got home a little late that evening. I was extremely exhausted last week, I thought I had gotten my energy back but it seems to be coming and going. Friday night I think I was in bed by 8pm and slept the whole night!! It was really nice to get caught up on my sleep. Steven had a tournament starting Saturday afternoon in Mansfield. I stayed home and ran some errands then went to Lloyd's (Steven's Uncle) for Pawpaw’s Birthday. They had a Fish Fry and it was delicious. After that, Krista, Steven and I went to see the movie Bounty Hunter. Don't waste your money...it wasn't that great.
Steven's Little League team is really looking good this year. They won both of their games on Saturday. Sunday I went out to the games, it was such a nice day! They ended up winning 1st place at tournament. These 11 year olds are very talented and fun to watch! Here are a few pictures, Hope everyone is having a great week!!

16 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 16 Weeks
Size of baby: about the size of an avocado, 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces
Maternity Clothes: Not yet
Gender: ??? April 15
Movement: Yes! Little flutters! We could see a little movement from the outside too!
Food Cravings: Tangy sauces. Sounds weird, I know.
What I miss: Still missing caffine, and being able to take medicine as needed.
Sleep: I'm sleeping really well other than crazy dreams that wake me up! However, I haven't really dreamed about the baby yet.
Symptoms: I started getting nosebleeds, I bet you didn't know that was a pregnancy symptom. I believe it's from the change in blood pressure.
Best Moment this week: Feeling the baby move.
What I am looking forward to: April 15!!!

Easter Weekend

We had a busy weekend! Thursday night Daddy had a little league game. Sax and I went to watch..the weather is starting to get really nice so the games are a lot more enjoyable!

After the game we had dinner with some of the players and their parents.

Friday, I had off work so we planned to go to see the Easter bunny and have lunch at the Zodiac Room at Neimans downtown. We did the same thing for Santa so I think we are going to try and make it a tradition.
Saxton playing the piano. She has one just like it at home that The Tuckers gave her for Christmas.
My sweet baby!

She is really starting to get vocal. I think she was yelling here.
Banging on the table.

Saturday, Steven worked on the backyard...that is a story for another post. I need to take a few pictures! :) Nonni (my mom), Saxton and I went out to Snider Plaza to pick up a few things for our Easter dinner. It was so nice outside. We walked around for a bit and did a little shopping. That evening we went to eat with Papa Redd (my dad) and Nana (Nancy). After that we ran by blockbuster and picked up a movie then went home. I don't think either of us made it 10min into the movie..we were pretty exhausted.

Easter Sunday, we woke up and Saxton opened her basket from the Easter bunny! She got clothes and a new toy! Papa Redd and Nana got her a new dress and, of course, she got a bunch of stuff from Mimi (Steven's Mom)! Aunt Mary also got her a little stuffed ducky that she really likes! Memaw bought her a cute little onesie with a matching bow! Nonni got us a new Easter sign for our yard at Snider Plaza! Forgive me if I forgot anyone...Saxton got a lot of presents. Thank you all! We hosted Easter dinner at our house this year so we were very busy. Saxton went to spend the day with Mimi and her cousins. We cooked out and got to chat with every one for a while. I realized after everyone left that I did not take one single picture!

Saxton spent the night with MiMi and Poppy on Sunday night. We had her an extra day this week because we won't get to see her this weekend (until Tuesday). She gets to go to San Antonio with her Mommy this weekend! This will be the longest we have gone without seeing her. We are missing her already!

She is such a good eater!! Last night she ate all of her carrotts!

Just some extra pictures:
